Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 4, 2026

Overview

Cascade (“Cascade,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the invitation service at joincascade.app (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you choose.
  • Contacts you add. To send invitations, you add the people you want to invite. For each, we store the name and the phone number and/or email address you provide.
  • Invitations and activity. We store the invitations you create and their status (for example, sent, accepted, declined, or expired), along with basic technical logs needed to operate and secure the Service.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • operate your account and the Service;
  • send invitation and confirmation messages by SMS and/or email to the recipients you choose;
  • protect against abuse and fraud, debug problems, and improve the Service.

Text messaging (SMS)

Cascade sends text messages only to mobile numbers that have opted in to receive them. A recipient opts in at joincascade.app/opt-in or when they open an invitation, and by doing so consents to receive event-invitation text messages sent through Cascade. Numbers that have not opted in are contacted by email instead.

  • Message frequency varies based on the invitations you send and receive.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or email hi@joincascade.app.

We do not share mobile information, phone numbers, or text-messaging opt-in or consent data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, and are used only to deliver the messages you request.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors that process it on our behalf solely to operate the Service — for example, our text-messaging provider to send SMS, our email provider to send email, and our hosting and database provider. They may use the information only to perform services for us. As noted above, mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared for third-party marketing.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Cascade, our users, or others.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion as described below.

Your choices

You can review and update your account information within the Service, opt out of text messages by replying STOP, and request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hi@joincascade.app.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
